An update on the progress of the Northern Ohio AI Center of Excellence, as shared in our February 2025 newsletter:

The Northern Ohio AI COE Committee met on January 22nd. Outcomes included:

  • Continuing to define deliverables for the year ahead,

  • Beginning work on the establishment of working groups,

  • Planning for an in-person social event in the near future,

  • Discussions around government impact in the AI arena,

  • Ethical considerations of AI usage,

  • and more.

In a letter to the committee following the meeting, members John Paganini and Jennifer Owens stated, “This committee has the power to transform patient outcomes, streamline operations, and create a lasting positive impact on our communities. More importantly, it has the people to drive that change.  Your spirit and dedication drives our newly formed vision and mission (which will now include responsibility, transparency and safety).  The AI COE committee will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare innovation in Northern Ohio – and most likely beyond that geographical boundary.”

Stay tuned for more announcements and engagement from the AI COE.
