DONATION TO PCs for PEOPLEJohn Paganini, Northern Ohio HIMSS Board Member presented Natalie Friedl, National Development Director at PCs for People with a $1000 donation. This donation will assist PCs for People in providing low-cost quality computers and internet into the homes of individuals, families, and nonprofits with low income. This is essential for enabling access to healthcare medical records.

NORTHERN OHIO HIMSS ACHIEVES SILVER RECOGNITIONNorthern Ohio HIMSS is excited to share with our members that we have received Chapter Silver Recognition from HIMSS. This is the second highest award a local chapter can achieve. To achieve the Silver Recognition, Northern Ohio HIMSS Chapter demonstrated a positive impact in the local territory through valuable programs and volunteer service. HIMSS was honored at HIMSS 23 in Chicago for its chapter contributions to the healthcare ecosystem!
Meet HIMSS Northern Ohio Chapter President Kevin TambascioKevin currently is the Director of Cybersecurity Data & Application Protection at Cleveland Clinic. Kevin’s team is responsible for the protection of our data and applications employed in all Cleveland Clinic health care delivery facilities. Prior to this role, Kevin was the Manager of Cybersecurity IT/OT Attack Surface Reduction at Cleveland Clinic, where his team drove improvements by continuously validating the organization’s defensive resiliency.
Before joining Cleveland Clinic, Kevin had eight years of experience in key cybersecurity roles at Rockwell Automation, an industrial controls systems vendor, and Keyfactor, a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) firm. Prior to joining the cybersecurity industry, Kevin spent over ten years as a software engineer and architect at Rockwell Automation where he built products used today in critical infrastructure and manufacturing around the world.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2000.
While serving as a member of the Northern Ohio Board, Kevin has served as the Program Chair during a very challenging time as we worked the transition of providing virtual events to our members to returning to an in person event this past Spring. Kevin worked closely with Clayton to leverage our virtual platform to provide these events to our members. Clayton is currently employed at the
Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio as the Director of the Patient Access in ITD at Cleveland Clinic. In this role, he has the opportunity to lead a group of caregivers that span across nine Epic modules and a group of Custom Software developers. Personally, Clayton has been happily married to his awesome wife Kayla for coming up on 10 years. They have a three-year-old son named Hudson and a one year old daughter Kinsley.
Meet HIMSS Northern Ohio Chapter President Elect Dr. Christine HudakDr. Christine Hudak has more than 30 years of experience in the health informatics field, including project management, systems implementation, systems analysis, teaching and instructional development. She served as Associate Professor and Director of the MSN in Nursing Informatics Program and Director of NurseWeb at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, from 2001 to 2012. She was Professor and Program Coordinator of the graduate program in Health Informatics in the School of Information. She is currently an independent consultant in Health Informatics and Analytics.
Dr. Hudak is widely recognized as an author, co-author and invited presenter on matters relating to health informatics. She serves as an Assistant Editor for the Online Learning Journal, editor of the Fourth, Fifth (and soon) the Sixth Editions of the HIMSS Dictionary of Health Information Technology Terms, Acronyms, and Organizations and has authored numerous chapters in books. She is a peer reviewer for many publications in Health Care Information Technology, Education and Nursing. She has over 50 publications and presentations.
Dr. Hudak's professional affiliations include the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, where she is a past President and currently the Chair of Education. She is an Item Editor and Instructor for the American Medical Informatics Association Informatics Certification as well as a member of the Scientific Program Committee and a general reviewer. She is a member of the American Nursing Informatics Association, Canadian Nursing Informatics Association, Digital Health Canada, National Institutes of Health Informatics in Canada, the Health Informatics Society of Ireland and the Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts in the United Kingdom. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Pi Lambda Theta and a member and Distinguished Educator of Phi Delta Kappa.
Volunteers NeededNorthern Ohio HIMSS is looking for members who are interested in being involved in our chapter activities. We are looking for committee members who have an interest in Advocacy, Program, Marketing, Social Media and Membership.

This site will allow you to view these as a follow up for attending the event or take advantage of viewing them if you were not able to attend. Please click on the link below to check it out.
CPHIMS, CAHIMS, FHIMSS and Senior FHIMSS MembersHIMSS Northern Ohio Chapter would like to recognize those members who have earned their CPHIMS/CAHIMS certification. In addition, active HIMSS members are recognized for their dedication to our society and industry when they become a Senior or Fellow member. Advancement criteria is based on professional capability, experience, leadership and service. Senior and Fellow Members are leaders within HIMSS and the industry. Health Information Exchange - CliniSyncWe are proud of our member contributions that helped make Ohio one of the nation’s best Health Information Exchanges – 90% of hospitals have joined an exchange. The CliniSync Health Information Exchange now has 149 hospitals contracted, more than 117 “live” sending results and reports directly to physicians and other providers, more than 400 long-term and post-acute care facilities, and independent physicians in over 1,200 practices.
