HIMSS has named Christine Buck, hailed for transformative marketing results, as its new chief marketing & communications officer. The veteran executive will report directly to President & CEO Hal Wolf, and she will spearhead HIMSS’s worldwide strategy in marketing, brand and communications.
“We wanted a transformational leader with proven experience in building a modern, business marketing strategy,” Wolf said. “Christine is exactly what HIMSS needs for an impactful presence on the international stage as we head into the future.” HIMSS’s mission is to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.
Buck, a recent Hootsuite executive, brings a cache of global marketing experience from leading organizations like Accenture, Bank of America, Morningstar and Huron Consulting. She started her career at Microsoft in Dublin. Buck has led teams marketing in the very parts of the world where HIMSS has its focus — Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
“Aspects of new, transformative marketing can drive real business that are aligned to our mission; it can be commercially driven but grounded in our work to bring digital reform and health equity to the world,” Buck said. “HIMSS has had a strong presence and is a respected voice in digital health, and I look forward to contributing to evolving our story and expanding our presence globally.”
At HIMSS, our vision is to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere. Be part of the community that’s transforming the global health ecosystem with courage, curiosity and determination.
